Abstract

159,739. Phillips, A. E. Jan. 23, 1920. Picture and like frames.-Photograph and like frames are built up of flat metal or other strips a turned over along corresponding edges so as .to form grooves c, d for the purpose of uniting the strips together end to end. The grooves may have a spring gripping action on the junction plates. In the case of a rectangular frame, the ends of the strips are mitred. In the case of a circular or oval frame, the sectional strips and the junction plates are shaped as arcs. Ornamental flanges b are formed on the front edges of the strips a. Bosses and recesses may be formed on corresponding parts of the sectional strips and junction plates, so that they may be permanently united by the application of a suitable tool.
