Abstract

498,369. Photographic developing - apparatus. LYNCH, J. T. Jan. 31, 1938, No. 3017. [Class 98 (ii)] A film-developing rack consisting of inverted-U- shaped members 5 between which the films are placed is formed so that the films can be raised relatively to it by extraneous means applied centrally of and below the films. The rack shown is formed of circular-section inverted-U-form members 5 connected at the sides by rods 6, 7 and having inturned lower portions 8, between which is a central gap. The ends of the portions 8 are connected by the transverse rods 9 forming part of U-shaped members 10, 11 which engage over panels 4 projecting from the side faces of the tank 1 and so maintain the rack against displacement when the tank is agitated during development. When the rack is removed after development, it is placed on a table 19, Fig. 3, having an upstanding member 18 which enters the gap between the lower portions 8 of the rack and engages the lower edges of the films, which are thus raised relatively to the rack so that they may be readily removed. The films are retained in position in the rack by U-form members 13, 14 pivoted on the rods 7 so ithat they may be turned to overlie the top edges of the films, as in Fig. 1, or to release them, as in Fig. 3. Any pair of a series of perforations 16 in the spring arms 14 can be engaged over the rod 7, so that the length of the arms may be adjusted for films of various sizes.
