Abstract

Stable arsenobenzene derivatives are obtained by combining a mono- or di-formaldehyde bisulphite compound of an amino-arsenobenzene with an amino-arsenobenzene either in the dry state or in solution or suspension. In an example, aqueous solutions of the monoformaldehyde-bisulphite compound of, and the silver compound of, the sodium salt of 3 : 31-diamino-4 : 41-dioxyarsenobenzene are mixed, allowed to stand, and the compound precipitated by pouring into alcohol; its solutions give no precipitate with carbon dioxide.
