Magnetic instruments. - In a loud-speaking telephone receiver in which an electromagnet unit and a diaphragm are relatively movable, the electromagnet unit is carried by a massive permanent magnet. The L-shaped core-pieces 25, 26 are mounted on the pole-pieces 23, 24 of the weighting magnet 22, a non-magnetic clamping ring 29 in conjunction with non-magnetic clamping-pieces 30, 31 being provided for clamping the core-pieces to the magnet 22. The diaphragm is made adjustable by clamping it between the cover 13 and a ring 16 which screws into the case 12. The diaphragm may be held by means of a set screw 20 which engages with a depending flange 21 of the ring 16.
