Abstract

204,537. Yano, E. Oct. 11, 1922. Tents of the type in which the roof is formed of tension and compression members radiating from a common central axis and in which a centre supporting pole is dispensed with, have the central axis 2 formed as a screw and sleeve nut to which the tension and compression members are joined respectively, so that the stresses in the members may be varied. The compression members 12 are formed of extensible sections while the tension members are formed of rope or wire. Their outer ends are secured to members 16 which are supported by the side posts 24. These members 16 are adapted to be lifted by pulleys on external uprights in order to place the roof in position.
