Abstract

204,324. Tyszkiewicz, E. Sept. 21, 1922, [Convention date]. Switches, clockwork actuation. - A lighting system for vehicles is provided with a clockwork actuated switch adapted to close the lighting circuit at a predetermined time. The wheel 2 of a clock mechanism is provided with a disc 6 having a notch 7. A wheel 1 concentric with the wheel 2 is provided with a pin 4 and is rotatable about the shaft 3 bv means of a pinion. The wheel is pressed against the disc 6 by means of a spring 8 provided with a pawl 9 normally engaging the wheel 10 which carries a contact 14. A second diso 13 carries a contact 15 which is engaged by the contact 14 when the wheel 10 is released and rotated by a spring 11. The wheel 1 is provided with an index hand the position of which gives the position of the pin 4. When the hour hand of the clock registers with the set index hand. the wheel 10 is released to close the circuit of a relay 20 the armature 21 of which closes the circuit of the lamp 23 and is latched in its operated position by a notch 24. Means may be provided for opening the relay circuit after the relay has operated. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), describes the use of the clockwork mechanism above to close the lamp circuit and the use of a hand on a clock face to complete the circuit of the relay 20. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
