Abstract

A method of providing a highly corrosion-resistant electroplated film, which comprises first nickel plating a material to be plated directly or after subjecting it to underplating, then subjecting it to high stress nickel plating and subsequently to final luster nickel plating, and finally conducting finish plating such as chromium plating. Unlike those formed according to a conventional microcracked chromium plating method wherein chromium plating is directly applied to form microcracks in the chromium film after high stress nickel plating, the thus formed highly corrosion-resistant plated film does not contain microcracks in the final film such as chromium film. Nevertheless, it exhibits excellent corrosion resistance.
