Abstract
203,239. Hart, F. E. Nov. 17, 1922. Extincteurs.-A venting-device which is automatically closed by the pressure generated when the usual plunger b is depressed comprises a subsidiary plunger e having a central air passage o provided with transverse ports m, n, which are normally open to the atmosphere and to the interior of the casing a respectively. When the plunger b is depressed, the internal pressure acting on the cup-shaped lower end l of the plunger e forces the latter upwards through its stuffing-box f, the lower port n thus passing out of the casing a, whereby the vent is closed. The port m is normally held above the gland h by a pin p. The head a is secured to the main part q of the casing by a threaded coupling-ring r.
