Abstract

203,147. Stableford, J. S. S. H. Aug. 3, 1922. Signs, supporting and securing.-In vehicle number plates which, with or without a lamp, are pivoted to hinged luggage carriers so as to be turned vertically and held' by a spring in whichever position the carrier may be placed, the locking means comprises a projection 13 on a pivoted lug 10 engaging recesses 14 in a bearing 7. The recesses 14 are at any required angular distance apart. A spring 12 bearing on another pivot lug 11 holds the projection 13 in locked engagement. In a modification, the spring is located between the lugs 10, 11 and bears at one end against a flanged extremity of an enclosing cylinder fixed on the bar 9.
