156,007. Shannon, W. T., Rowan, W. S., and Shannon, R. J. Jan. 23, 1920. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Mud-guards rotating with wheels.-An antisplash device for vehicle wheels comprises a series of spring-controlled segments 5 which are slidably mounted on a carrier plate 3 secured to the rim 2 and which are flared outwardly. Each segment 5 is slidably secured against the plate 3 by a spring-controlled stud 9 and an eye-bolt 10 both of which are secured to an extension 13 of the segment 5 and work in a slot 14 in the plate 3. The bolt 10 is normally secured against one side of the slot 14 by means of a spring 16 secured to the bolt 10 and to a bolt 18 fixed to the plate 3. The sides of the segments 5 abut against each other as at 22.
