Abstract

202,728. Lilly, J., and Lilly, W. T. May 24, 1922. Supports or stands for cycles, motor-cycles, side-cars, &c. wherein an arm, adjustable lengthwise within a clip pivoted to an attachment member, can be moved laterally with respect to the member for disengaging and engaging a projection on one part from, and with, one of a number of recesses in the other part, two spaced screws or bolts 7, 8 extend between the portions 5, 6 of the clip and serve to contract it about the arm 4, and the bolt 7 constitutes the pivot whereas the bolt 8 serves as the projection to engage with the recesses 11. The arm comprises a length of rod bent at about its centre 9 to provide a pair of spaced limbs between which thebolts pass. The spring 13 permitting lateral movement of the arm is partly enclosed in a dished washer 14 which is held in position by a nut 15 upon the bolt 7 and has a straight upper edge 17 adapted to bear against the underside of the bracket or attachment member 1.
