Abstract
202,413. Rutherford, J. F., and Davis, W. A. C. May 19, 1922. Continuous paving.-Tennis, bowling and like playing courts are formed with a base or foundation of wood, concrete or other material with flat or cambered surface which is covered by strips of partly or wholly vulcanized rubber, coloured as desired, and cemented to the base and to each other at their edges. The markings may be formed of strips of white rubber. The strips of rubber may be composed of a mixture of rubber and organic filling-material such as wood meal, leather waste, cork dust, or wool waste, which latter is said to impart a nap or pile to the finished material. Gutters are formed in the foundation and covered by gratings which themselves are covered by strips of rubber material. Specifications 129,826 and 176,073, [both in Class 70, Indiarubber &c.], and 182,640 are referred to.
