Abstract

Slides, belt and like.-A fastening for machine belts &c., comprises a flat plate of slightly less width than the belt, formed with three open slots C extending inwardly from each edge and with one or more sets of three closed slots or openings B between and in parallelism with the open slots C, the central row of slots B, C, running transversely, being wider than the slots on either side thereof. The belt ends, after being suitably slotted as at E, are placed together and passed through the central row of slots, each end then being bent back and passed to the underside of the fastener through the outer rows of slots, as shown in Fig. 3, the device gripping frictionally when the belt is tautened. Adjustment may be effected on lengthening the slots E in the belt ends.
