Abstract
196,145. Billau, J. E. Feb. 25, 1922. Belt fastenings of the kind adapted to be placed between turned-up belt ends, with lugs or arms passing through slots in the belt and secured by transverse pins &c. A substantially cruciform member has pairs of arms b, c, Fig. 5, of different lengths to increase the adaptability of the device to belts of various thicknesses. According to the thickness of the belt, the longer or shorter arms c, Fig. 3, are passed through slots in the turnedup belt ends f, the tread of the belt bearing upon the other pair of arms b. This connection is completed by transverse securing pins or bars e of rectangular or circular cross-section inserted into elongated slots b in the arms of a number of cruciform members arranged across the width of the belt.
