Heating - surfaces. increasing; convection currents, promoting; jackets.-A kettle or water-heating vessel of globular or other shape has a depending part adapted to fit within an ordinary lamp chimney, or the vessel may be combined with a water-jacketed lamp chimney of sheet metal. As shown in Fig. 1, the depending part A of the vessel isprovided with three L-shaped wires B adapted to support it on the upper edge of a lamp chimney. Im the form shown in Fig. 3 the vessel is formed in one with a jacketed sheet metal chimney in which are formed flues D for the egress of the flame gases and a mica-covered aperture F for inspection purposes. Either form cf vessel may be provided with a convection tube G disposed, as shown, within the depending part, and the vessel spout and body may be, as shown, connected by a tube J.
