Gas fires; heatradiators. - An incandescent gas fire 1 has arranged above it a radiator 2 consisting of vertical hollow elements, the arrangement and area of the heating surface of the radiator being so proportioned to the size of the fire that the combustion gases escape from the radiator to the chimney at the lowest possible temperature. The radiator may be composed of independent castiron elements, or, as shown, of two sheet-metal plates bent into zigzag shape and relatively disposed in accordance with either of the two sectional views illustrated, the aperture connecting the fire 1 with the radiator 2 being, in all cases, of the greatest cross-sectional area available.
