201,859. Greene, A. C. Feb. 7, 1923. Aerials.-Comprises means for leading in from an aerial wire through a door or window without boring holes. Flat insulating strips a, b, Fig. 4, of fibre or the like are bent at right-angles at z, a flat conducting strip c being held between them and brought out at the ends c<11>, c<111>, where it is clamped by terminal posts f, g. The strip c may be further insulated with rubber, wax, shellac or the like and the strips a, b, may be held together by eyelets or cemented at their edges so as to be watertight. The coupling is secured to a window frame k by nails or screws k<1>, or to a door frame or door or window. In a modification, Fig. 5, the conductor c is brought out through a slot s so as to be exposed on both the upper and the lower surface of the coupling. Instead of the strips a, b, a flat fibre tube may be employed, or the insulation may be moulded round the conductor c, or as in Fig. 10 a single piece of fibre may be wrapped round the conductor, or the strip a may be folded so as to overlap the strip b as in Fig. 11. The coupling may be tapered, being broad at z. Fig. 4, and narrow at its ends, or the strips a, b, may be formed in the middle with lugs for attachment purposes. The device may be strengthened with steel or other reinforcement strips, which may be embedded in the insulation as at L, l, Fig. 17. Instead of the flat strip c, several fine straight or plaited wires may be employed. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 210,257.
