Abstract

210,257. Morris, C. V. Jan. 8, 1923. Aerials.-Arrangements for leading in through a window without boring holes include a coupling comprising a flat strip a of copper or the like sandwiched between flat strips of insulation which may be eyeletted at a and nailed in place, the window m being shut down on the coupling as in Fig. 3. The coupling is attached at its inside end to an insulating block b carrying a terminal, and at its outside end to a corrugated insulator c of ebonite or porcelain, which also functions as a lightning discharger. This insulator is mounted on a metal base d connected to earth by a wire j, and the aerial wire k is attached in case of a storm to the same terminal as the earth wire, but ordinarily the aerial wire is fastened by a nut l to a metal pin e whose lower pointed end forms a lightning discharger with the earthed plate d. To protect the insulator from weather an insulating and water-proof shield f is added, the conductor a being attached beneath the top of this.
