Abstract
Means for separating solids from liquids comprises two rollers 10, 11 mounted side by side for rotation about parallel axes and resiliently biased into engagement with one another to form an upwardly open trough at the nip of the rollers. The axes of the rollers are inclined to the horizontal so that one end of the trough is higher than the other, and the rollers are rotated in opposite directions so that the surfaces thereof move downwardly at the nip. Mixed solid/liquid material is fed to the higher end of the trough from a hopper 20. The solid material is forced through the nip and falls into a bin 21 below the rollers, while the liquid flows along the trough to a tank (22) at its lower end. <IMAGE>
