Abstract

Intaglio printing plates are manufacture from a photosensitive material comprising a transparent base sheet and a photopolymerisable layer. The photosensitive material is imagewise exposed to a negative of a grid pattern and the material is exposed imagewise and through the base sheet to a positive of the image to be printed. The material is then developed to leave a plurality of different depth cells 7 corresponding to the image areas it is desired to print (Fig. 3). <IMAGE>
