Abstract

201,436. Maddux, C. A. Sept. 5, 1922. Vehicle lamps; lighting, systems of.-In a vehicle head-light used as a spot light, in addition to the usual reflector 4 and light source 7, the elongated casing 1 is provided with a light source 17 and a reflector 12 carried by a frame 15 which is mounted in a narrow elongated slot-like aperture and in the casing 1, the beam from this reflector being spread longitudinally and flattened transversely. The casing 1 is mounted, preferably on an universal joint 25, so that the direction of the beam through the side aperture may be changed without disturbing the direction of the beam from the main source 7. A glass 21 is carried 'by the frame 15.
