Spark-gap oscillation generators.-An apparatus for applying low frequency currents to a patient comprises a static transformer, the primary and secondary windings 1, 2 of which are connected together at one end 3, the free end 10 of the secondary winding being connected to a blanket placed over the patient and bed and consisting of a conductor 13 between two waxed cloths 12 as shown in Fig. 3. If the transformer is supplied with continuous current, an electrolytic interrupter 5 is included in the primary circuit which .may also contain a time-interrupter for stopping the current through the electrolytic interrupter for predetermined periods. The current in the primary circuit is varied by means of resistances 9, 9<1> and a variable inductance coil 17. Fig. 4 shows a modification for applying high frequency currents in which the outer coatings 19 of two condensers are connected together and to the blanket 12, the inner coatings of the condensers being connected to a spark gap 25, one terminal of which is joined to the point of connection 3 of the primary and secondary windings of the transformer. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that the condensers and spark gap may be removed and the ends of the secondary winding connected to an apparatus for producing R÷ntgen rays. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
