Abstract

A system for delivering a metal- containing catalyst into a forced draft entry port of a chemical reaction chamber, such as a fossil fuel combustion chamber of a furnace or I.C. engine, includes a container having an aqueous solution 42 of the catalyst through which air from an intake line 14 bubbles up before bubbling an oil layer 44 in which a second catalyst is dissolved. Minute quantities of the catalysts are carried by the air into the reaction chamber. Catalysts which may be used are platinum chloride, platinum tetrabromide, dihydrogen platinum hexachloride, manganese naphthanate and barium may be used in addition to platinum and manganese. The intake line 14 is supported by a float 16 so that its outlet end is at a fixed distance below the liquid surface. <IMAGE>
