Abstract

A scatter machine for the regulated distribution, optionally, of sand, gravel, or compost comprises a container (1) equipped with a revolving drum (5), two contra-rotating mixing rotors (2), a scatter roller (4) arranged parallel and adjacent to the said drum and provided with radial ridges and an adjustable slide (3) defining an exit slot. The drum (5) is arranged to rotate towards the scatter roller (4) and the latter is reversible in direction. in one mode of operation, for distributing finely graded material, the slide (3) is closed and the scatter roller (4) is rotated towards the drum (5) to discharge material between itself and and, the drum. In another mode of operation, for distributing coarser material, the slide (3) is opened and the scatter roller (4) is rotated in the same direction as the drum (5) so that material is carried through the discharge slot provided by the slide (3). <IMAGE>
