Abstract

1446798 Sieving apparatus SCHUTTGUTFORDERTECHNIK AG 7 Nov 1974 [8 Nov 1973] 48289/74 Heading B2H [Also in Divisions El and F2] Sieving apparatus comprises a rotatable screen drum 95 having a screw conveyor 106 and openings 102, a frusto-conical drum 101 coaxially mounted on the screen drum, and vibrating inclined screens 109, 112. In operation loose material mixed with water is backed by impingement head 91, falls onto the inner surface of the screen drum, and is conveyed towards the open end 97 of the drum by the screw conveyor 106. Small stones and sand fall through the openings 102 into the drum 101 from which they fall onto the screens 109 and 112. Multiple screening rather than double screening may be effected by having further drums disposed coaxially with and surrounding the drum 101, the outer surface of the drum 101 being provided with openings which are smaller than the openings 102. Large stones remain in the drum 95 and are conveyed by the screw 106 and a chute 107 to a conveyor 108.
