Abstract

1326340 Reclaiming material from piles EISENWERK WESERHUTTE AG 26 April 1972 [27 April 1971] 19368/72 Heading B8E [Also in Division E1] Apparatus for picking up bulk material comprises a mobile framework supporting a tubular scoop assembly 1 which discharges on to a conveyer belt (not shown) via a shoot 11 and a conveyer belt 12. A rake device 17 loosens the material for engagement by scoop members 2-9. Material from a scoop 3, for example, falls on to a surface 10 of the next scoop 4 and, via the shoot 11, on to the belt 12. In Fig. 3 (not shown) the scoop assembly consists of a plurality of coaxial drums (26-30) which may be driven independently at different speeds. Alternatively the drums may be connected for rotation by a common drive. A further construction, Fig. 6, comprises scoops pivotally connected at 24 for actuation by devices 25. This arrangement permits clearance between the periphery of the assembly 1 and the shoot 11 to be reduced.
