Abstract

The engine comprises at least one cylinder, a carburetor (2), an inlet pipe (6) for bringing the gaseous mixture produced in said carburetor (2) to said cylinder, a throttle valve (38) located in said inlet pipe (6), an exhaust pipe (7) for the gases burned in said cylinder, a water tank (9) connected to a chamber 10 in which the water level is controlled by float 18 and a heat exchanger 8 consisting of a pipe 27 which is heated by exhaust gases when the engine is operating. Water vapour in pipe 29 is drawn into the engine at a rate controlled by plug valve 40 which is mechanically linked to operator-controlled throttle valve 38. <IMAGE>
