Abstract

200,369. Patchett, T. R. July 14, 1922. Hand actuation.-Single brakes are arranged to be actuated from either side of the wagon. The brake rock-shaft B has fixed to it a double-armed lever E, D, one end of which has a lug D<1> extending below the side lever A on that side. The lever A is loosely mounted on the shaft B and actuates the 'brakes through the lug D<1>. The other end E is actuated through a defending slotted link connection M, ar arm L and a crossshaft H, by a lever F on the other side of the wagon. The bearings J for the cross-shaft H may be formed so that some of the existing bolts and fittings on the wagon sole-p ate can be used to secure them in position. A modified form of link M is indicated in the Provisional Specification.
