Abstract

A process for replenishing a zinc phosphating solution with an aqueous zinc phosphate concentrate containing ferric ions. The concentrate contains 0.001 - 0.2 pts by weight of Fe<3-> per part of Zn, and is neutralised prior to addition such that the weight situ of free P2O5 to total P2O5 is in the range 0.02 - 0.15.
