Abstract

A battery state of charge indicating device intended for use in a battery powered vehicle includes a battery voltage measuring circuit (301) which produces an output signal dependent on the voltage of a storage battery (303). A switch element (323) connects the output signal to a storage capacitor (327) when conductive. Switch element (323) is rendered conductive from time to time by a timer circuit (315 and 354 to 367) triggered by an input from a motor current detector circuit (340). The timer circuit is triggered whenever the motor current falls below a threshold value, indicating that the battery current has ceased. <IMAGE>
