Abstract

199,902. Coulthurst, J. R. May 17, 1922. Mules.-In a device in which a spring is inserted in the chain connecting the counterfaller with the salmon-head lever, means being provided to limit the elongation of the spring, a U-shaped frame f is connected at one end to the lever band to the lower end of the spring d. The upper end of the spring is connected to the chain c<1> and to a cross bar h sliding on the frame. Nuts i limit the upward motion of the bar h on the frame. The connection between the spring and the frame is adjustable by means of the nuts g<1>, g<2>. The cross-bar may be fixed to the frame, and the rod connected to the spring may slide through a hola in it until the spring abuts against the bar. According to the Provisional Specification, the device may be applied to the chain for the winding-faller lever or to the drawing-up friction spring.
