Abstract

199,079. Russell, D. Dec. 8, 1922. Grates.-A barless fitting for kitchen ranges comprises side cheeks A, having lugs L for adjusting screws M which bear on the front of the range, and an inclined solid or perforated cross-piece B fitted with adjustable sliding hooks H for attachment to the bars of the range. The cheeks A have extension plates F, G which are slotted to receive the trunnions D of a fall-bar C which may be supported on the stud K, over the fire, as shown, or in a horizontal position in front of the fire, or in a vertical position, in which last case a projection on the fall-bar engages in the notch J in the plate F. The fitting is made slightly wider than the firebars of the range so that the existing fall-bar may be used with the barless fitting.
