Abstract
197,264. Bagley, C. H. F. Oct. 23, 1922. Angular bending.-An apparatus for folding sheets of steel, iron, &c., consists of a table comprising a pair of leaves hinged at their inner ends so as to be rotatable about parallel stationary axes to fold the sheet against a dividing member. The sheet w is placed on a table consisting of a pair of leaves a, b keyed on parallel shafts c, d which are geared together and driven by a rack k reciprocated by an hydraulic ram n so as to fold or double the sheet about a fixed or adjustable dividing plate p suspended from the frame q. A bar r, preferably T-shaped is used to bridge the space between the bosses a<1>, b<1> of the leaves, the bosses being recessed at t, v so as not to foul the bar. The finished sheets are palled off the dividing plate by tongs and may then be flattened.
