Abstract

309,332. Frederick, L. T. May 22, 1928. Splitting.-A machine for splitting mica plates by repeated bending comprises a pair of travelling belts 56, 58 between which the. plates are fed and which pass over driving rollers 22 and bending formes 7<2> - - 80, of progressively increasing curvature. Each roller is driven by worm gearing 32 from a common shaft 34 and the formers are carried by a vertically adjustable head 46. Guides 82, 86 may be provided if desired.
