Abstract
196,695. British Metal Spray Co., Ltd., and Gillespie, W. M. Jan. 27, 1922. Enamelling, vitreous.-A method of improving the character of sprayed enamel containing metallic particles, when making deposits, consists in submitting the sprayed enamel to electrical treatment either prior to or at the time of being deposited. The object, to be coated may constitute one pole of an electric circuit, the metallic apparatus from which the sprayed substance issues constituting the other. If the object is a non-conductor of electricity it may first be rendered electrically conductive by covering it with some conductive substance. In an example the current used was taken from a 250 volt alternating-current lighting circuit with an ordinary lighting lamp in circuit. The gas used for projecting the substance is so regulated as to prevent oxidation. Specifications 28001/12 and 25132/13 are referred to.
