Abstract

1,146,781. Coating with glass and metal. METCO Inc. 13 Feb., 1967 [24 May, 1966], No. 6832/67. Heading C1M. [Also in Divisions B2 and C7] To form a conductive coating, particularly for electrical circuits sprayed on to insulating material, flame spray powder or wire comprises copper or silver or a mixture thereof and from 4 to 50% by volume of glass. The powder may be in the form of composite granules of the metal and glass and the wire in the form of a core of the metal and glass powder with a sheath of the metal. The glass is preferably a borosilicate sealing glass and the volume 20 to 45, 35% in an example, but soda-lime or high silica glass may be used. In one example the coating is oversprayed with an insulating coating of aluminium oxide and in another, tin powder is added to copper powder and the glass.
