Abstract

1,146,319. Coating with glass particles. UNITED-CARR Inc. 23 Nov., 1967 [19 Dec., 1966], No. 53393/67. Heading C1M. [Also in Division H1] axially extending in a dielectric, the latter is a mixture of a plastics material, e.g. polyethylene or P.T.F.E. and a siliceous material, e.g. silica, in the form of hollow microspheres, the coefficient of expansion of the mixture being approximately equal to that of the conductor. As shown in Fig. 3, a coaxial cable comprises a central copper conductor 14, sintered plastics base coating 16, dielectric mixture 10, of plastics and siliceous microspheres, applied by coating, drying and sintering to the desired thickness, plastics sealing coating 18 and outer conductor 12 which may be applied by electroless deposition, electro-deposition or metal spraying.
