Abstract

Liquid level, maintaining; filtering. - In a lubricating system for internal-combustion engines in which the level of oil in a splash bath 4 is controlled by a horizontal rotatable drain tube 11 having a peripheral orifice 13 exposed to the interior of the bath, a filter 16 is provided within the tube to cover an orifice 14 communicating with the sump 5. The tube may be drawn out endwise for cleaning or renewing the filter. The tube may be rotated manually, or automatically in accordance with the setting of the engine throttle. Specification 196,479 is referred to.
