Abstract
196,368. Johnson, F. Jan. 20, 1922. Crucibles and melting-pots.-In means for pouring metal so arranged that the heat may be maintained while the metal is being poured, a bottom-pour crucible 1 fitted with a verticallyreciprocable stopper 5 is mounted within a cylindrical furnace 30 which may be heated by a burner 35 having a hollow standard 37 through which the metal can flow to the mould. The stopper may be supported from a standard 12 and operated by a horizontal lever 16 and links 19, the operating and supporting members being adapted to be moved vertically and rotatably on the standard 12.
