Abstract

159,803. Luca, D. de. Sept. 2, 1919. Metal-pouring.-A pouring-channel for an electric or other furnace is mounted on an upright support in such manner that it can be rotated horizontally and also swung vertically. It comprises a, cup 1 pivoted on a standard 6 by means of a spherical-headed pin and attached to a long trough 3 supported near its outer end by a carriage 4 on a circular rail, so that this end can move over a circular row of ingot moulds 10. The trough and cup may be made of cast iron lined with refractory material, and may be strengthened by a brace bar 8 secured to the cup and carriage. A semi-cylindrical cover is hinged to the upper part of the trough 3.
