Abstract

300,486. Jackson, L. Mellersh-, (International De Lavaud Manufacturing Corporation). June 5, 1928. Casting-machines; metal-pouring. - A trough, pipe, &c. 1 for feeding molten metal to a centrifugal metal-casting mould 6 is provided with separate supporting means intermediate its ends which are moved into supporting position after the beginning of the casting operation. This means may comprise a pivoted arm 5, the counterweight 8 of which rests on rails 20 until the mould 6 is sufficiently withdrawn, or the lever may be operated by hand. In another modification, an adjustable support 9, Fig. 2, is carried by a truck 10 on rails preferably separate from those carrying the mould. The truck 10 may be coupled to the mould carriage.
