Abstract

195,386. Hartmann, C. W. March 21, 1922, [Convention date]. Electricity, discharging from paper.-Electricity is discharged from a paper web in a paper bag-making machine by moistening the paper by directing against it particles of water carried in a finely divided and uniformly distributed state by means of air which is blown on to the paper. This may be effected by an atomizing device 3 in which air, compressed by a pump 5 driven by the machine, passes from a storage bottle 4 so as to direct a moistening mist on to the roll of paper 1. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the treatment of webs of paper in machines other than paper bagmaking machines and the use of moistening materials other than water atomized by gaseous media other than air. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
