Liquids, gases, and vapours, treating with.-In the bleaching and like treatment of fabric, the latter in continuous length and in open width, is treated with one or more liquid reagents and simultaneously with one or more gases, vapours, or mists; the liquids and gases may co-operate with each other, or their action in the fabric may be independent; as an example of the former applied to the bleaching of cotton fabric, the material may be passed through a mercerizing bath and then exposed immediately to chlorine gas.
