Abstract
293,767. Du Pont Rayon Co., (Assignees of Gladding, E. K.). July 11, 1927, [Convention date]. Apparatus for making filaments. - Cakes of artificial fibres are treated with liquids, for example washed and bleached, while covered with a protective fabric, such as cheese cloth, which will permit the passage of liquids. The covering is wrapped round the cake, Fig. 2. so that it overlaps at 3. The top portion is then wrapped round the inside of the cake and the lower portion brought up through the interior and over the top of 'the cake so that it overlies the free edge of the top portion, Fig. 3. The cakes are usually treated by hanging them on rods and permitting water and the treating liquids to trickle over them.
