Abstract

193,617. Dunn, J. W. Jan. 19, 1922, Cutting slices in succcession.-A, device for holding meat, bread, or the like during cutting and slicing comprises a base board a, an upright d and a vertically adjustable member g. The meat is gripped between the board a and the member g, the opposed faces of which are spiked. Ribs j are provided on the. base 'board and also, if desired, on the member g. The upright d is dovetailed into, or permanently attached to, the base board a and is provided with vertical dovetails e in which slides the member g. An aperture b serves as a thumb-hold when moving the device. The edges of the base-board are bevelled at k and may carry advertisements, e.p. by attaching metal advertising-plates. The upright d may also carry advertisements, e.g. by pioviding it with a slit in which an advertising card is inserted. The device may be made of aluminium or other metal, or partly of wood and aluminium.
