Abstract

193,067. Tinker, F. J. Aug. 12, 1921. Locking nuts. - Relates to means of the type described in Specification 116,434 for locking nuts. According to the invention, the split internally-threaded conical sleeve is made integral with one of the nuts. In one form, a nut 1, Fig. 3, is provided with an integral split conical extension 3, and is locked to the bolt 9 'by the nut 4 which has a conical recess 11 provided with an automatic locking-cam 12 of the kind described in the aforesaid prior Specification. The nuts are prevented from separating by a flange 8. In a modification, the nut 4, Fig. 7, has a split conical extension which co-operates with a conical recess in a ring 1.
