Tyre attachments to rims.-The metal foundation-bands c of a rubber tyre a, cf the type having a continuous air-space b, are locked against relative transverse displacement by an expansible and contractible ring e. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, the ring e (divided as at f) is formed with flanges g and a central rib d between which the bands c are held and spaced. Detachable-rim attachments to wheels.-The detachable rim 5 (shown constructed to carry twin solid tyres 6) is fitted with internal lugs 10 adapted to engage between lugs 7, 8 on the fixed rim 3 in the manner of the bayonet-joint. The circumferential movement of the rim 5 may be effected by driving taper pins 30 between blocks 28 or 29 on the detachable rim and blocks 27 on the fixed rim. In use, the rim 5 may be locked in its operative position by bending-over the forward ends 33 of the pins 30. For properly centering the rim 5, the lugs 10 may be arranged to ride up wedge seatings 34 fitted between the lugs 7, 8. The circumferential movements of the rim 5 may also be effected by means of a radial bolt 19 having a cam-head 14 engaging thrust-blocks 12, 13 carried by the rim 5. For locking the bolt in its operative position, a washer 23 (keyed to the bolt) and the inner ends of the fixed sleeves 16, 17 are formed with serrated surfaces which are forced into engagement by a nut 27.
