Abstract

152,223. Allan, C. F. F. Nov. 13, 1919. Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and pneumatic cushions.-A pneumatic tyre T is enclosed by a rim A, fitted with a solid rubber tread T<1>, and flanged rings L, L<1> which are attached to yokes Y having a sliding connexion with the wheel felloe F. To prevent relative creeping, the flanges L, L' have bosses 13, H engaging recesses in the rim A and yokes Y respectively, the transverse securing-bolts 12, 23 being arranged at these places as shown. Protuberances P, having air-vents 10 and strengthening-ribs 11, are formed at intervals on the inner periphery of the rim A, or on a ring V fitted therein. Studs 15 on the yokes Y engage blocks B on the fellce which are fitted with roller bearings 17.
