Detachable-rim attachments to wheels.-The elastic tyre c, vulcanized to a metal base-ring a, is secured to the wheel rim b by means of taper pins k driven into transverse grooves in the rim b. The dimensions of the rings a, b are such that the ring a is distorted to a polygonal form by means of the wedges k. These are arranged with the taper alternating around the wheel, and, being shorter than the width of the tyre, are locked by the overhanging tyre.
