Carburetting - apparatus.-A device for indicating the fuel consumption comprises a vented calibrated glass vessel a arranged between the fuel tank and the carburettor, and provided with a single four-way cock e for isolating the vessel from the fuel supply system, for placing the tank and carburettor in communication with the tank, and for cutting off the tank and placing the vessel in communication with the carburettor. The valve is actuated by a stem q provided with a handle a carrying a spring- pressed detent. The vessel a is mounted in a metal casing b provided with a vertical slot the edges of which are graduated to read either in miles per gallon, or in gallons per unit time.
